This blog contains items from Muriel and Vernon Vandersall's home in Pittsburgh. These things were saved by Aunt Amy, who would like to have them go to a Vandersall descendant's home. They might make nice heirlooms to hand down to children and grandchildren. See my September post for more information.

Item 26: Linen doily with cutwork.
This is a linen doily with cutwork. I believe this is machine made. It is about 17 by 13 inches in size.
Item 25: 3 piece blue and white buffet topper (Laura first)
This is another of the three piece toppers for Muriel's buffet that Laura now has. Aunt Amy doesn't know who made this, so it may not have been made by Muriel. The two side pieces are the same.

Item 24: 3 piece topper for buffet (Laura first)
This is another 3 piece hand embroidered set for Muriel's buffet. Aunt Amy says that her mother used this a lot on the buffet. Aunt Amy would like Laura to have first dibs on this because Laura has the buffet piece. I think Muriel embroidered this herself. Each piece has flowers in different colors. The central piece is slightly larger than the two side pieces.

Item 23: 2 round lace doilies with linen center
These are hand made lace doilies with a linen center piece. They are roughly the same size--about 6 inches in diameter. If you would like only one, just let me know.
Item 18: Dish towel with squirrel pattern.
This is another linen dish towel with lace along one end. The towel measures 22 by 35 inches.

Item 16: 3 oval toppers for buffet (Laura first)
These three oval toppers were embroidered by Muriel, according to Aunt Amy. The three are all the same shape, with embroidery in different patterns for the left and right sides. The center piece is slightly larger than the two side pieces. Aunt Amy would like Laura to have first refusal of this set because it was made for the buffet set that Laura has.

Item 15: 3 piece buffet table toppers (Laura first)
This is a 3 piece set of embroidered unbleached linen. There are 2 round toppers and a central rectangle with concave cut-outs. Aunt Amy suggested that this set should go to Laura first if she wants it for the buffet because Laura has Muriel and Vernon's dining room buffet. This set was made for that piece and Muriel always used these on top of that buffet. So we'll let Laura make a choice on this set first.
