Last post for now.

Dear Vandersall Clan,

We are related by blood, but we are also related by the love, gentleness, and kindness of Muriel and Vernon Vandersall. That love and kindness was passed to all of their four children: Thornton, Virginia, Amy, and David. I hope that some of you will remember Muriel and Vernon, and, if not, then you know Thornton, Virginia, Amy, and David. From these four, you will know from where their kindness, gentleness, and love of family come.

Although some of us may squabble on Facebook or email, we are still family. And if you can't squabble with your family, then who can you squabble with? Right?

If family members would like some of these items, just email me with the number you want and an address.I will send them to you as soon as I can. I hope that some may want these to hand down to children and grandchildren, even if they don't want to use them in their homes today.

If I have not contacted someone in the family directly, it is only because I am relying on siblings to pass the word. So please pass along the URL to this site!

I have done measuring to the best of my ability. If anyone would like clarifications or additional pictures, I'll try to do that as well. If there is an interest in these objects, Aunt Amy may have others that can be added here.

Thank you so much Aunt Amy, for your love and for saving these wonderful memories!

Love,

Lauren

Item 43: Linen table cloth

This is an old linen table cloth with a lovely design on it. It doesn't show up in the photos. The table cloth measures 90 inches by 67 inches. There is one tear in it and another worn area that could be sewed. It needs a gentle wash to restore the color. I can't take a picture of the whole table cloth, so here are details:

Items 38 to 42: 5 linen dish towels

These 5 linen dish towels are the same. Some have been used more than others. One has some stains on it and one has a small hole. They measure approximately 33 by 19 inches. The detailed pattern is on one side only. Please let me know if you would like them all or only a few. I will mail out the best ones first.

Item 37: Linen dish towel

This beautiful linen dish towel measures approximately 24 by 36 inches. The design is at both ends of the towel.

Item 36: handkerchief

This is a simple handkerchief. It was also from Muriel and Vernon's house. It is about 11.5 inches square.

Item 35: 2 flour sacks

These flour sacks are made of a heavy cotton. Stores would sell flour (or wheat perhaps) in sacks and people would make clothing out of the sacks. So the companies started selling their product in patterned sacks. People would use them as pillow cases, or make dresses for children, or other things from the cloth.

There are 2 of these sacks, in the same pattern. They are about 28 inches long by 18.5 inches wide. Just let me know if you want one or both. I think the detailed picture shows a bit more blue than the actual cloth. It is more of a purple shade.

Item 34: Doily

This doily is about 8 inches in diameter. It has a very small stain on one side--walnut stain perhaps?
